Post Combine Top 10 NFL Draft Prospects from DraftTwitter!

First Post-Combine DraftTwitter Top 10 Prospects List unveiled!

A LOT has happened over the weeks since the NFL Player Combine kicked off in March and it is reflected in our survey results!

With just over 10% of the expected number of ballots returned, the current DraftTwitter Top 10 prospects list has some surprises compared to the survey taken before the NFL Player Combine.

This “DraftTwitter Project” seeks to aggregate the ranking of the Top 100 prospects in this coming NFL draft.  Pre-Combine, 28 scouts had their say in compiling a list of 100 players representing DraftTwitter's aggregate thoughts on the best players.

The final ballots for the 100 best prospects are not due until April 17th, but here are the early returns:

  1. Myles Garrett
  2. Solomon Thomas
  3.  Reuben Foster
  4.  Leonard Fournette
  5.  Jamal Adams
  6.  Malik McDowell
  7.  Jonathan Allen
  8.  Malik Hooker
  9.  Dalvin Cook
  10. Mike Williams

 Notes:
  • Garrett’s lead in terms of average draft score (100 is best or a unanimous overall #1 choice) over second place has increased tremendously– whereas he was only 2.50 points ahead of Jon Allen pre-Combine, his lead over Thomas is a whopping 6.19 points!

  • Speaking of Jonathan Allen, he drops from #2 overall to #8, dropping from 96.27 points to 89.14; clearly health concerns have taken their toll on the public’s opinion.
  • Despite him getting kicked out of the Combine, LB Reuben Foster’s draft stock soared from 9th to 3rd.  From what I’ve read, it seems scouts are really beginning to appreciate his understanding of the game and the lack of impact Linebackers has also likely helped his rise.
  • The biggest surprise was the rise of Defensive Tackle Malik McDowell.  Although just under 10% of all expected ballots have been received, it looks like McDowell has drawn the right kind of attention from our scouts despite the churning rumor mill, jumping from #19 and 72.69 points to #7 and 90.71 points, per the preliminary numbers.

Answers everyone wants to know!

Who is the top QB so far?  Mitch? DeShaun? Mahomes?

RB Dalvin Cook was #6 and now he’s dropped to 9.

Speaking of Running Backs, did voters continue to have character concerns for Joe Mixon or is his game tape causing amnesia?

To find out, you’ll have to watch for updates and the final list posted Monday April 24th, the week of the Draft.

Don’t want to wait? You can join our crew of scouts and have inside access to the process and chat with our other scouts any time of day!
